The Unpacking — The Sequel

So I yanked out the suitcase and unzipped all the pockets and laid everything on my dining room table.

A month after I grabbed them, a lot of the items from my cube struck me as totally worthless. Maybe I have been through a bigger change emotionally than I realized.

I kept a few potentially useful files and shredded the rest. The pictures have found new homes on the shelves here. My dictionary too.

There’s a bunch of Tupperware and coffee mugs that had gravitated to work, some of them years ago. Mine wasa relatively large cube with a lot of storage, and I am the type who puts things in the back of a closet and forgets them. So I guess The Unpacking, in and of itself, suggests some movement in the right direction.

My really good letter opener is home again. So it my swing-arm lamp. These are things I brought from home to make my life at work more pleasant. Nows they’re still on the table, awaiting reassignment. This process is complicated by the fact that I don’t have an office at home any more.

What do you think: Yard sale?
